Bottoms Up: Busch Concocts Special Brew to Commemorate National Dog Day

We all love sharing some cold ones with our buds, but now you can crack one open with your best friend of all.
To celebrate National Dog Day, Busch Beer announced the release of Busch Dog Brew, filled with “dog-friendly flavors and nutrients.” It’s not actually beer, though. The broth is made with bone-in pork butt, core, celery, basil, mint, turmeric, ginger, and water, according to parent company Anheuser-Busch.
As with any new food product you’re considering for your dog, it’s important to consider the ingredients and any possible health concerns your dog may have before giving him a sip. Products with a majority ingredient of corn may cause digestive issues for your pup. And while a special drink just for your favorite drinking buddy may sound like fun, it's always a good idea to consult with a veterinary professional before introducing any new items into your dog's bowl.
Busch says they made the brew for the dogs, but for the more adventurous taste-testers, it's safe for humans to try, too. You might just want to knock back a few traditional Busch Lights to cleanse the palate. (But it sounds kinda gross.)
Busch says the dog brew can be served hot or cold, depending on what your dog likes. You can refrigerate an opened can of the broth for up to five days after opening it.
You’ll have to order the dog brew online, where you can also find Busch-themed dog gifts like dog collars, ID tags, and leashes perfectly suited for your pooch’s next tailgate. A four-pack of the dog brew will run you $9.99, and buying one will enter you in a raffle for a Busch dog bed.
For each case of the brews sold, Busch will donate $1 to Best Friends Animal Society up to $50,000, PEOPLE reports.
And, no, please don’t ever give your dog real beer. It’s toxic and can poison your pup.
